Father Peter Young said his moral guide in life is the Beatitudes, written in the Bible as teachings from Jesus. “It is a struggle between following the Beatitudes and following state regulations,” he said.

GUILDERLAND — Anthony and Lauretta Whitbeck of Guilderland announce the engagement, which took place on March 1, 2013, of their daughter, Toni Marie Whitbeck, to Seth. J. Canetto, son of Jay Canetto of Loudonville and Lisa Cowan of Altamont.

St. John’s Lutheran Church at 140 Maple Ave., in Altamont has the following schedule for Sunday, March 23: 

— 8:30 a.m. there will be an informal worship including modern and ethnic hymns plus a discussion of the format for the sermon; and

A Guilderland senior told her school board — with some members who no longer want to support Tech Valley High — that school brought her out of her shell, preparing her for life's challenges.

With three seats at play in the Guilderland School Board elections, only three petitions have been taken, two  by incumbents; candidates' petitions are due back on April 21.
