On Oct. 13, the Guilderville swim team competed against Albany at home for Senior Night.

GUILDERLAND — Supervisor Kenneth Runion says the proposed $33 million budget for 2015 will not raise the town tax rate for residents — it will remain at 25 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuation.

The budget will also remain under the state-set tax-levy cap by $224,000.

The sale of the Nosh deli, facing Route 20 in front of Crossgates Mall, and purchased by Pyramid, caused widespread speculation about the mall's plans. However, a Pyramid partner said it will remain a restaurant.

For national Mix It Up at Lunch Day, athletes from the College of Saint Rose and high school students in Guilderland sat in the seats of a local middle school, where lunch tables can represent social boundaries.

Children and teens stepped into characters with their costumes last week, seeking sweets and new personas at Guilderland and Voorheesville schools.

Prior to becoming a stay at home mother, I worked on Elk St. in Albany. In the morning, on my way to work, I drove past the Freihofer Bakery and was tantalized by the wonderful aroma wafting through the air of their fresh baked bread.

ALTAMONT — Boy Scout Troop 264 of Altamont will conduct its Annual Food and Can Drive in November.

Bags will be delivered to homes in Altamont on Saturday, Nov. 1. The Scouts will return the following Saturday, Nov. 8, to pick-up donations

OK, I'm on a mission — a fundraising mission; it's been a few years since I've asked friends and family for money, so I figure you must have a few dollars burning a hole in your pockets or purses — especially if you were a former camper up at Camp Little Notch in Fort Ann, New York.

The environment is the most important part of our community.

We think that we should start a program called Green.  In the program, we would clean up the environment.
