ALTAMONT — Rose M. Martin is remembered by her children as a woman who never had a bad word to say about anyone and who taught them to be kind. 

Mrs. Martin “passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, with her loving family by her side,” her family wrote in a tribute. She was 90. 

Cody White of Guilderland, a member of the New York Army National Guard assigned to the Joint Force Headquarters received a promotion to the rank of staff sergeant.

“I was so excited we could save them from death, I had to give them a kiss when they arrived,” said Marcia Scott, the founder of Happy Cat Rescue, which she runs from her Meadowdale Road home.

ALBANY COUNTY — Nicholas Christopher of Altamont was armed with a 12-gauge shotgun when he held up a gas station in June, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday, Christopher, 24, pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted robbery, a felony.
