ALTAMONT — St. Lucy/St. Bernadette Church in Altamont is sponsoring a trip departing from Albany to Provence and the French Riviera, also known as the Cote d’Azur, meaning coast.

The historic runs for the Guilderland football team, going for the school’s first sectional championship, and the field-hockey team, looking for its first-ever regional championship, fell short this past week.

Swimmers focused on qualifying for states as they competed on Nov. 7 through Nov. 9 at Shenendehowa. Guilderville, made up of Guilderland and Voorheesville swimmers, finished with 132 points and Helderberg Valley, made up of Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Duanesburg swimmers, finished with 295 points. A relay team and two individual swimmers from Guilderville will compete at states as will Abigael O’Donnell from Helderberg Valley.

GUILDERLAND — Tasheem Maeweather will remain in prison because the state’s highest court, the Court of Appeals, has declined to hear the appeal on his case, attorney Terence Kindlon told The Enterprise Friday, the same day he learned of the court’s decision.

In 2020, the town will begin to charge residents for accepting their household recyclables.  

Tickets for the Guilderland Players’ fall play, “Arsenic and Old Lace” written by Joseph Kesselring, are $5 and are available at the door. The play is directed by high school teacher Andy Maycock, with Johnna Kollar as student director. The play runs Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Nov.

On Saturday morning at Tri-City Fitness and Tennis Center, Guilderland's top two tennis singles players competed against the States best players at the NYSPHSAA competition in Latham.

The bleachers shook as the crowd cheered when the Guilderland girls’ field-hockey team won its their first-ever Class A sectional title Sunday.

Our knees age as we age, so taking precautions may help them age a bit slower.
