ALTAMONT — Greta Radley was a kind woman who always wore a smile; she was the type of person, her daughter Bonnie said, who “could hold her own in a conversation, whether it was telling tales of her life growing up or talking about the goings-on of the day.”

She died on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019. She was 92.

ALTAMONT — George Willard Heath, also known as “Poppy,” was a loving father, cherished grandfather, and beloved great-grandfather. He died on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019. He was 77.

GUILDERLAND — Stanley Gemlick, a Guilderland native and decorated World War II veteran, died on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019. He was 101.

GUILDERLAND — On Nov. 15, Community Caregivers Inc., a non-profit based in Guilderland, received a $1,500 award from State Employees Federal Credit Union.

The robber said he had a gun, but never showed one, say police.

GUILDERLAND — Stephen Cadalso was one of the residents of the ghost neighborhood in front of Crossgates Mall; he sold his home to Pyramid in December 2015. He believes Pyramid’s current plan to build a Costco in his old neighborhood is “too intense” of a use.

Next steps are for the project to go to the Albany County Planning Board, possibly  in December, then to Guilderland’s planning board for a recommendation to the zoning board, and then to the zoning board for a public hearing no earlier than Jan. 15. 

GUILDERLAND — An Albany man has been charged in five separate incidences, stealing property valued at over $11,000, according to a release from Guilderland Police.

Promenade representatives

No new residents can be admitted to Promenade until the adjourned hearing is resumed or until the state’s Department of Health reaches an agreement with Promenade, according to DOH spokesman Gary Holmes.
