Assemblyman Chris Tague was joined by Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Congressman Lee Zeldin at Stanton’s Feura Farm to speak out against what they viewed as the negative impact of reducing the farm-laborer overtime threshold from 60 hours to 40 hours. 

The 25-year agreement Altamont signed with Reservoir Road Solar allows the company to build a 25-acre solar facility at the 303-acre Altamont Reservoir site. 

The hearing will take place over Zoom on Aug. 10, at 6:30 p.m.

The study looked at 30 years of development, demographic, and economic trends in town, and arrived at the conclusion that, generally speaking, development has declined in the years since the town last updated its comprehensive plan.

Guilderland Supervisor Peter Barber made the request in a July 6 letter.

Albany H&S Hospitality received a $21.84 million loan to purchase the 4.4-acre hotel property at 1651 Western Ave earlier this month.

The summer following its town-wide reassessment in 2019 Guilderland faced 30-odd lawsuits from property owners looking to drive down the value of nearly 80 properties by a cumulative $378 million. The town has since settled a great many of the cases, with the outcome often more favorable than not for Guilderland. But a few tough court battles remain. 

The unanimous vote naming Gilker the next Voorheesville School Board president took place at the July 6 reorganizational meeting, when members elected Robert Samson as their vice president and Robyn Willoughby was sworn in as the board’s newest member.

NEW SCOTLAND — Albany County is looking to lower the speed limit on three roads in town, and one of them is an effort to limit disruptions for a proposed contractor yard on Frederick Road in Guilderland.

In addition to what’s likely to be the most controversial bill the town board takes up next month — on policing lawns and trash — the New Scotland Town Board will also hold public hearings on laws related to recording of meetings and residents looking to engage the town in litigation.
