GUILDERLAND — Courtney Miedema, co-owner of Cryo Lodge, a new business in Guilderland, said this week that she became convinced of the therapy’s benefits through her own experience as a serious runner.

Town board candidate Laurel Bohl told The Enterprise she has a right to not have anyone place “for sale” signs on her property. 

By offering environmentally problematic properties through a sealed-bid auction, Albany County hopes to avoid charges that it is unfairly picking people to convey properties to. 

As commencement speaker, Gockley was chosen by the graduating class. He started out his speech with a catch in his voice. “Standing before you, I am amazed at the wonderful surprises that life can bring,” he said.

Mitch Hahn teaches listening, in addition to writing, and helps his students learn to “listen not just to respond, but to understand, even if they don’t agree.”

SCHENECTADY — The bedrooms are ready, but the area’s family courts have not yet placed any young women in the Northern Rivers new intensive residential program. Created in response to Raise the Age legislation that went into effect in New York State last Oct.

“There’s no reason to ask for a variance if you’ve got enough space on your property to redesign the building so that it fits into the space without a variance,” McKownville resident Donald Reeb commented to the planning board about the proposed project.  

Sherri J. Brooks will be the first African-American woman to serve on the Albany County Family Court bench. 

The facility is open every day, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., including holidays.
