Part of the Nov. 15 Guilderland ZBA meeting acted as a public hearing for Beck Concepts LLC’s request challenging a violation it received “for utilizing a single-family dwelling for the purpose of transient rental accommodations.”

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, in partnership with the Hudson Valley AgriBusiness Development Corporation, has awarded grant money to 26 different meat-processing projects across the state in an effort that’s expected to expand processing capacity by 4.8 million pounds annually. 

Patrick Corbett is accused of stealing “an ATV, a keyboard, night vision binoculars, hunting equipment with apparel, two safes that contained a total of 6 guns, over 3,000 rounds of ammunition, and several other items,” according to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple. 

In reality, the New Scotland Town Board last month adopted a budget for next year that is up about $515,000 over this year, according to Lisa Boehlke, Supervisor Doug LaGrange’s clerk and bookkeeper. 

“It’s a dexterity game, a tabletop game that originated in Canada,” said Jason Molloy, president of the Extra Pint Crokinole Club. “It’s a disc-flicking game with aspects of curling, darts, marbles, and bocce ball.”

ALBANY COUNTY — Several local groups are receiving funds as part of Round XIII of the Regional Economic Development Council Initiative, which is dispensing over $23 million to support 101 communities statewide.

The cost of the construction project is expected to be about $10 million, of which $3.4 million has been raised so far. 

“I take the children that don’t get picked up for Christmas and have a party for them at St. Madeleine Sophie’s,” said Georgianna Pennacchia. She hosts the party in the old church and makes it as cozy as can be. “It’s very homey,” she said. “We sing carols and do games.”
