Man arrested for stealing weapons, ammo from Rensselaerville home
RENSSELAERVILLE — The Albany County Sheriff’s Office arrested Patrick Corbett, 43, on Friday for allegedly stealing guns, ammo, and other things from a home in Rensselaerville on late Nov 29.
Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple wrote in a Facebook post this week that Corbett is “accused of entering a residence in the middle of the night and stealing numerous items including an ATV, a keyboard, night vision binoculars, hunting equipment with apparel, two safes that contained a total of 6 guns, over 3,000 rounds of ammunition.”
On Dec. 1, the sheriff’s office and New York State Police searched Corbett’s property and found some of the items stolen from the Rensselaerville home, Apple wrote.
Apple wrote that Corbett has been charged with three felonies: second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree grand larceny. He was arraigned in Rensselaerville Town Court and released under supervision of probation.
“Another great case by deputies,” wrote Apple. “The only thing wrong with this case is this person walked out of court.”
