GUILDERLAND — Alpin Haus has opened a seasonal pop-up shop in Guilderland’s Hamilton Square. The store opened Dec. 1 and will close in late February.

The Voorheesville Public Library held an event "Military Memories and Veterans Voices” last Sunday afternoon.

Last weekend, the Guilderland Garden Club held their annual green show at the Mynderse-Frederick house in Guilderland Center.

NEW SCOTLAND — For the 12th year in a row, John M. Bagyi has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America. An attorney at Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC, Bagyi has been listed for labor and employment law since 2007 — when he was the youngest attorney in New York State to be recognized.

During the first two weeks of November, the students and families of Helderberg Christian School once again partnered with the Rock Road Chapel Community Storehouse and collected over 250 items of food to fill Thanksgiving baskets for 41 families in the Hilltowns.

NEW SCOTLAND — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Albany County is holding a Winter Dog Obedience Class.

Participants will learn how to teach basic obedience while having fun bonding with their dogs. There will also be an optional Canine Good Citizen test with an evaluator from the American Kennel Club.

ALTAMONT — Altamont Boy Scout Troop 264 will be participating with the Victorian Holiday this Sunday at Orsini Park selling handcrafted birch reindeer and homemade baked goods.

The boys will be serving free hot cocoa and candy canes as well as providing fire pits as warming stations.

 

Father Alistair J. Morrison will be instituted as the 40th rector of historic Christ Episcopal Church in Duanesburg by the Right Reverend William Love, bishop of the Albany Episcopal Diocese, at a special service to be held on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 4 p.m. at the church.
