The Appellate Court has decided that the town of New Scotland is not responsible for the injury of a resident who caught his thumb in the tailgate of a town dump truck delivering wood chips.

The town’s reorganizational meeting on Tuesday announced a new member on the planning board and the retirement of two long-time town employees.

While Knox last month decided not to invest in an appraisal of its Altamont reservoir property, the village board on Tuesday committed to spending $11,000 for an appraisal to prove in court that the property should not be valued, or taxed, as a reservoir since it is no longer used for that purpose.
