Guilderland's girls soccer and girls tennis teams battled against Suburban Council teams this past week on Sept 27 and Sept 23rd respectively.

Guilderland Varsity boys volleyball took on suburban council foe in Niskayuna last Thursday, Sept 22 at home.

Reaching hard but coming up short, the Guilderland varsity field hockey team played tough against Niskayuna last Thursday, Sept 22, at home.

Last Thursday, Sept 15, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo golf team had a match at home, the Sycamore Country Club, against Galway.

A woman who gave her whole hearted support to female athletics at Berne-Knox-Westerlo is to be honored posthumously at the second annual induction ceremony of the BKW High School Athletic Hall of Fame next Thursday.

BETHLEHEM — Luke Dole of Delmar has been named to the 2016 State University College at New Paltz Men’s Soccer team.

Last season, the Hawks finished 10-8-1 (3-6 SUNYAC) but were on the outside looking in on the postseason. New Paltz finished 7-4-1 at home.

BETHLEHEM —  Joseph Giacone of Delmar is a member of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute football team. Giacone, a senior, has helped the Engineers to a strong start through the first two weeks of the season, including a win at Norwich University the first week.

SLINGERLANDS — Vito Mesiti of Slingerlands is a member of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute soccer team. The electrical engineering major has helped the Engineers to a strong start through the first two weeks of the season with the Engineers posting a 2-1-1 record.

ALTAMONT — Brenna Obrien of Altamont has been named to the 2016 State University of New York College at New Paltz Women's Cross-Country team.

The team is preparing to build on a seventh-place finish at the 2015 SUNYAC Championship meet.

 

Running through Tawasentha Park in the 46th annual Guilderland Invitational, 17 schools competed on Saturday, Sept 10.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls varsity volleyball battled to the end in the season opener in the Western Athletic Conference match at home on Sept. 8.

The boys of fall are back on the gridiron, gearing up for a state championship in football. Guilderland started on Sept 2 vs Niskayuna and Helderberg Valley on Sept 3 against Whitehall.

Guilderland and Voorheesville varsity golf teams competed on Monday, Aug. 29, early in the season after each team had won one match and lost one match.

Last Sunday, August 28, the hilltown triple crown finished up on the streets of Altamont in Bozenkill Park.
