After 12 weeks of renovations, Market 32 in Hamilton Square in Guilderland opens its doors on April 21.

St. John’s Lutheran Church at 140 Maple Avenue in Altamont has an informal Sunday worship service at 8:30 a.m. and a traditional service at 11 a.m., on Sunday, May 1.

Sunday school starts at 9:45 a.m.

GUILDERLAND — What a winter that wasn’t. It’s time to catch our breath and look back at what a busy year we had.

BERNE — The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Parent-Teacher Association is sponsoring a second “Meet the Candidates Night” to showcase the individuals from our community who will be running for the next two open board of education seats.

ALBANY COUNTY — Among the $57 million the state has allocated to help low-income households reduce utility costs, the Albany County Cornell Cooperative Extension has received $499, 218. And the Albany Community Action Partnership has received almost as much — $495,439.

On Saturday, April 16, seven adults and 10 Scouts from Troop 50 journeyed to the Catskills. We could not have asked for better weather for a trip like this.

SUNY Polytechnic Institute held an event that raised $10,000 for the Rapp Road Historical Association, which is dedicated to the preservation of Albany’s Rapp Road Community Historic District.

The state’s Department of Environmental Conservation is recruiting participants for the 2016 summer sampling season to conduct water quality assessments in streams and rivers as part of the Water Assessments by Volunteer Evaluators project known as WAVE.

ALBANY COUNTY — To help shoulder the burden of routine road ditch maintenance, the Albany County Soil and Water Conservation District has applied for and received funding to control soil erosion from road banks and road ditches in Albany County.

VOORHEESVILLE — The Albany County Rural Housing Alliance Inc. has been awarded $360,000 in grant funds to help first-time homebuyers with mortgage down payment and closing costs.
