GUILDERLAND — Jeffrey Mark Cascini, 40, of 1026 O’Brien Ave., Schenectady, was arrested on Mar. 11 by Guilderland Police for attempted burglary and felony DWI, driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol.  

Cited for violations in the past, the Guilderland Center nursing home is under new ownership, and administrators are showing off improvements.

Michael Venuti has a large new house on a hill overlooking the Bozenkill. He told the town board at its March meeting that what he sees out his window every day is a dilapidated shack across Bozenkill Road from his house.

Without their own library, many Knox residents use libraries in Berne and Altamont but the town doesn't contribute funds commensurate with use.

According to the Albany County assessment rolls, the house, which stands on 1.09 acres, had a full market value of $190,795.

BERNE — The town’s highway superintendent — a Republican in a town governed by a council of all Democrats — left on a planned trip to Maine at 2 p.m. last Friday afternoon. That evening, he heard from two of his six full-time highway workers: They had been fired by the town supervisor.

Grant will allow cultural organization to cover airfare and room and board for the three teachers or principals selected. 

Most customers shopping at the Stewart's at Gipp Road and Western Avenue in Guilderland on Tuesday night were taken aback.

The new owner of Berne's Fox Creek Market grew up in the restaurant business and has his family to help him prepare both fine cuisine from northern Italy and pizza to go.
