Senior lunch program in Altamont gets much-needed new fridge

Cool: Local leaders show off the new refrigerator recently purchased for the Altamont senior lunch program. The program — with lunches prepared by volunteers weekly at the parish center of St. Lucy/St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Grand Street in the village — needed a new refrigerator, said spokeswoman Mary Rozak of the Albany County Executive’s Office. The refrigerator cost just over $2,000, Rozak said, and was purchased with about $1,500 in grant money from the Albany County Department of Aging and the remainder in private donations. Shown, from left, are Altamont Mayor James Gaughan, Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy, State Senator George Amedore, and Sister Pat Davis.
