ALTAMONT — For those who are grieving, or struggling, or just looking for a place of calm in the midst of the busyness of Christmas, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Altamont is offering a quiet, late-night Christmas Eve worship opportunity.

The New York Army National Guard has announced these soldier promotions:

Amir Graham from Schenectady, serving with the Company C, 2-108th Infantry, is promoted to the rank of Private; and

BurgerFi is short for “Burgerfication” and it serves hamburgers made with grass-fed beef, without chemicals, hormones, or additives, as well as hot dogs and fresh-cut fries.

The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences men’s soccer team earned a bid to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Tournament in Asheville, North Carolina for the first time in school history.

The Rensselaerville Volunteer Fire Company Battalion is sponsoring a toy drive, collecting toys to benefit the Hilltown Community Resource Center.

New, unwrapped toys may be left, through Dec. 4, in Rensselaerville at the Hilltown Café, the Rensselaerville Town Hall, or the Rensselaerville Library.

RENSSELAERVILLE — This Helderberg Hilltown will be abuzz with holiday cheer on Saturday, Dec. 5, including a greens sale at the library, an artists’ exhibition, a community beer party, a visit from Santa, and a tree-lighting.

BETHLEHEM —The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce’s free Holiday Shopping Card offers discounts and promotions from 39 local businesses.
