GUILDERLAND — Guilderland High School graduate Nick Polsinelli is taking his baseball talents to the south this summer.

GUILDERLAND — Like most recent college graduates, Steve Dagostino is looking for a job. Unlike many of his colleagues, Dagostino hopes to ply his trade as a basketball player.

GUILDERLAND — Hard work pays off. At least it has for a pair of Guilderland Lady Dutch lacrosse players.

Aaron Cahill of Guilderland and Steven D’Amario of Niskayuna were selected to participate in the US Lacrosse National Senior Showcase in Chicago this past weekend.

The Voorheesville boys’ 4x800-meter relay team and Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s Ada Lauterbach competed in the New York State meet this past weekend.

All the local competitors had good showings at the statewide meet at the University of Buffalo.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team saw its mirror image on Friday, and the Lady Dutch did not like the results.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland boys’ track-and-field team finished up a solid season with some good efforts by some young athletes.

The Dutchmen finished the season 7-4 in the Suburban Council, strong enough to win the Gold Division of the league.

GUILDERLAND — “Guilderland girls don’t get tired.”

That is the Lady Dutch lacrosse team motto, according to junior Jen Madsen. And with two more wins in the past week, the Guilderland squad won’t be able to get tired.

VOORHEESVILLE — Four speedy kids will try to fly even higher in Buffalo.

BERNE — The Berne-Knox-Westerlo track teams had some fast times this season.

And the season is not yet over for one BKW athlete.

GUILDERLAND — After winning a close Section II Class AA semifinal match, the Guilderland boys’ tennis team dropped a close championship match.

VOORHEESVILLE — Saturday was a good day for the Voorheesville track-and-field team.

GUILDERLAND — One pitch could have changed the result of the Guilderland baseball team’s Section II quarterfinal loss against LaSalle on Saturday.
