Cahill D rsquo Amario showcased in Chicago
Aaron Cahill of Guilderland and Steven D’Amario of Niskayuna were selected to participate in the US Lacrosse National Senior Showcase in Chicago this past weekend.
There were 98 seniors from all over the country divided into four regional teams. Both were on the North team which took first place.
The North squad beat the East squad in overtime, 15-14, to win the championship. They beat the South, 12-11, in the semifinal contest.
Cahill and D’Amario played on the Adirondack team at the 2006 Empire State Games and were both named captains of the 2007 Adirondack team. Both were also named captains of their high school teams.
Cahill will be playing lacrosse at Onondaga Community College near Syracuse next spring. Onondaga were National Junior College champions in 2006 and 2007.
Cahill will then move on to play at a Divison I or Division II college.
D’Amario will be playing at the University of Massachusetts next spring.
Cahill and D’Amario have been friends since playing youth hockey together.
