BERNE — Charlene M. Lee, who was passionate about her family, died on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. She was 85.

She was born on June 3, 1936 in Schoharie to the late Willard and Mabel Berner Hotaling.

GUILDERLAND — Beatrice Doreen (née Williams) Pikcilingis, a religious woman who loved traveling and being with her family, was a long-time resident of Guilderland.

Mrs. Pikcilingis died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at Ellis Rehab and Residential Center in Schenectady. She was 94.

ALTAMONT — D. Frances Ripley was a master needle crafter whose work was sought by museums. She freely shared her love and knowledge of spinning and knitting each summer at the Altamont Fair’s Wool Nook.

GUILDERLAND — Lillian Mae Bellinger came into this world on Sept. 22, 1929, and left it the same day, 92 years later.

Donald Harrison Paul, who was raised in the Helderbergers and worked in construction and as a farmer, served during World War II, when he was wounded at Utah Beach during the last Normandy landing.

He died in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where he had lived at the end of his life, on Jan. 6 , 2021. He was 97.

EAST BERNE — LeRoy Wellington Schoonmaker Jr. — an Army veteran and mechanic who, with his wife, raised five children — died peacefully Friday, Sept. 24, 2021. He was 82.

Known as “Sonny,” he was born in West Berne, New York on June 15, 1939 to the late LeRoy Wellington Schoonmaker Sr. and Ina (née Cook) Schoonmaker.

GUILDERLAND — Joseph J. Donohue, a patriot and family man, died peacefully at his Guilderland home on Monday, May 31, 2021. He was 86.

WESTERLO — Patricia “Trish” Parker Fisher of Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly of Westerlo, “entered into eternal rest at the age of 87 on May 10, 2021, joining her dearly missed husband, Walter M. Fisher Jr., son Robert D. Fisher, and sister Judith Parker Dyndor,” her family wrote in a tribute.

ALTAMONT — Norma Dean of Altamont — a proud mother — died peacefully in her home on Monday, May 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s.

EAST BERNE — Barabara Ann Roney-Genter, of East Berne, died at home on Monday, March 8, 2021, while surrounded by family and her cat Mimi-kins and golden retriever, Missy. She was 89.
