Norma Dean

ALTAMONT — Norma Dean of Altamont — a proud mother — died peacefully in her home on Monday, May 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s.

She was born in Albany in 1931. She graduated from Altamont High School in 1950 and was married to the love of her life, Stanley, on Aug. 1, 1954.

“Norma was a homemaker, raising four children of whom she was extremely proud,” her family wrote in a tribute. “Once her children were in school, she worked as the secretary at the Altamont Reformed Church for over 25 years. Norma also spent her time volunteering for the Altamont Elementary PTA, teaching Sunday School and working at the Altamont Free Library after retirement.

“She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially celebrating holidays together. Norma enjoyed family vacations to the lakes of the Adirondacks, including Schroon and Paradox.”
