Last week, I said that we would explore building and scenery changes made because of technology and gifts from benefactors. 

My hometown of Fairhaven, Mass. has been honored with many gifts, so I would like to start with benefactors.

The Guilderland Senior Services is offering the following activities the week of   Feb. 3. Call the senior office at 356-1980, ext. 1048 for any questions or information.

ALTAMONT — Charles C. Simons, a sincere man who always held onto hope, died on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, following an extended illness with Parkinson’s disease. He was 86.

Caregivers for those on both ends of the age spectrum — the elderly suffering from Alzheimer's and the young on the autism spectrum — can sign up with police to be part of a system that will help them get home if they wander.

Faced with reduced resources and a government reform agenda, Superintendent Marie Wiles wants school leaders, rather than outside pressures, to define Guilderland's future.

Guilderland has 20 teachers on required improvement plans, a measure the superintendent says is unwarranted because the numbers from hastily implemented state tests, she said, don't mean much.

The Guilderland girls' basketball team was trying to inspire younger players, and it definitely worked.

I would like to comment on your Jan. 16, editorial “Good dialogue makes good neighbors.” The editorial speaks to the dispute between neighbors Ms. Barbara Huba and Mr. Michele Salerno.
