On Saturday, May 11, the sixth-seeded Guilderland boys’ tennis team traveled to the third-seeded Saratoga in the Section 2, Class AA quarterfinals. The Dutch battled but fell to the Blue Streaks, 9 to 0.

On Friday, May 10, 21 Guilderland Student-Athletes signed their National Letter of Intent to play for their respective schools this coming fall.

Last Thursday, May 9, the Guilderland boys’ lacrosse team faced off against Suburban Council foe Columbia at Guilderland High School. Guilderland used the second half to pull away from the Blue Devils, winning 9 to 6.

Bethlehem Deputy Chief James Rexford said of his department’s $746,642 grant, “We are planning on using the money to upgrade our dispatcher radio consoles in the department’s Communications Center.”

In addition to deciding on a $125 million budget for next year, district residents will also elect three out of five candidates for the school board, vote on two complementary bus propositions, and also decide if the district should sell the town its 1860 Cobblestone Schoolhouse for $10,000.

The Guilderland Town Board on May 7 voted unanimously to accept Guilderland Village LLC’s application for a proposed Planned Unit Development on 13 acres of land spread across five separate tax parcels between 2298 and 2314 Western Ave.

The delay, Supervisor Peter Barber said at the board’s meeting on Tuesday, is because the Albany County Planning Board said notification of the moratorium must be sent to neighboring municipalities according to General Municipal Law.

James Warner Ingleson

ALTAMONT — James “Jim” Warner Ingleson was “a man of unwavering faith and wisdom, profound love for his family, and a passion for music,” his family wrote in a tribute. “He went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 4, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.” He was 76.
