GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Chamber of Commerce will present this year’s Annual Business Awards at its 46th Annual Awards Dinner and Gala on June 2 at the Albany Country Club, The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m.

Paul A. Gardner grew up in Guilderland, hunting with his brothers for rabbits and birds that their mother would cook. His passion for hunting eventually took him around the globe, meeting challenges and making world records.

Community Caregivers is pleased to announce its 14th annual golf tourney scheduled for Monday, June 11. It will be held at Pinehaven Country Club at 1151 Siver Rd. in Guilderland.

Intensity ramps up during sectional play. The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs and Guilderland Dutchmen measured up in their first sectional games this week.

For 14 years, the Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team had reached the Class A sectional finals. But on Monday afternoon, at home, the Dutch witnessed a buzzsaw in Bethlehem that led from the opening whistle to the final buzzer and the Dutch, seeded second, lost, 14 to 3.

The Guilderland Unified Basketball team showed its dominance last Thursday at home against Tamarac. The teams combine boys and girls, and regular-education students along with special-education students.

GUILDERLAND — Slipping here and there along the well-polished floor tiles, Albert EinSwine was greeted with smiles, outstretched hands, and an occasional gasp as he traveled the corridors of Our Lady of Mercy Life Center on Friday afternoon.

Wouldn’t it be possible for the Pine Bush Commission to mark off sections of these trails, with signs to educate people about their history?
