ALTAMONT — On Saturday, Oct. 12, The Village of Altamont Archives and Museum will host a Founders Day celebration, incorporating Altamont’s Museum in the Streets walking exhibit.

GUILDERLAND — Help support scouting by leaving your deposit cans and bottles out for us on Saturday, Oct. 19. Boy Scouts from St Madeleine Sophie’s Troop 50 will be holding their annual Bottle Drive that day.

ALTAMONT — Freda R. Hartman, the oldest active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, died peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019. She was 96.

She was born to the late William and Elizabeth (née Loechel) Reineck in Albany on Jan. 21, 1923.

ALTAMONT — Irena Altmanova Frinta was ahead of her time in combining her career as an artist with her role as a supportive and loving wife and mother, said her daughter, Dagmar.

Five people are seeking the unpaid school board post. Their job interviews will be conducted in public and broadcast live on TV. 

The Guilderland Planning Board is considering subdivisions of two large parcels of land, one outside Altamont and the other in western Guilderland. 

David Fusco of Colonial Car Wash says modern car-wash technology, which conserves and reclaims water, is already available in Guilderland, at his car wash. David and Sandra Hameroff claimed, in their application for tax breaks, they were entitled to a tax break in part because no such environmentally-friendly technology existed in town.
