William H. Ward

ALTAMONT — William H. Ward — a Korean War veteran whom his family described as a great provider — died peacefully at home on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020. He was 90.

He was born on April 30, 1930 in Burlington Flats, New York to the late Thomas and Annie Marie (née McVery) Ward.

“If the giant wind drops a giant tree on your yard, paint a giant bug!” says Ruth Dickinson.

Save the Pine Bush’s Nov. 27 court filing states that it is aware of the Nov. 20 court decision that halted the project, but “nonetheless brings this action in the interest of preserving” its rights “in the event that” Pyramid is able to move forward with the project, for example, “in the event of reversal or dismissal of the prior decision of this Court.”

Westmere Elementary School

A fourth and fifth case of COVID-19 within a week were announced on Monday by the Guilderland Central School District. This makes 20 cases for the district so far this school year.
 

Porter E. Bidleman

ALTAMONT — Porter E. Bidleman died “on the top shelf,” on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 at his village home with his loving daughters by his side. He was 94.

GUILDERLAND — Guilderland schools have two more cases of COVID-19, according to an email Superintendent Marie Wiles sent Saturday evening to families in the district.

GUILDERLAND — A second COVID-19 case at Lynnwood Elementary School was announced this evening, Nov. 27, in an email Superintendent Marie Wiles sent to Guilderland Central School District families.

This makes a total of 16 confirmed cases for the district so far this school year.

On Friday and Saturday, the Guilderville girls swimming team, made up of Guilderland-Voorheesville students, swam at Shenendehowa High School for the Suburban Council Championships. The team finished 5th overall with 216 points.
