After 10 years, Judith Wines leaves as Altamont’s librarian. This Friday is her last day before assuming her new post at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Library.

Love is shown in many ways.

Ours is not a big church, according to any statistician, or denominational standards. But in heart we really try to be what our Lord has called his people to be, a help in time of need to the poor in spirit as well as in body.

I would like to express my appreciation for all the support that I received for the AIDS Walk. I raised over $1,800.

The support I receive every year has been wonderful; with more people becoming involved.

Perhaps one day they will find a cure for this horrific disease.

The public got a look at how to preempt risk, with simulated impairment goggles and talks with safety experts at the Traffic Safety Awareness event at Crossgates Mall in Guilderland last weekend.

GUILDERLAND — Shirley Beatrice Shafer, a gracious woman who loved to dance, died, on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at home, with her husband, Raymond Shafer Sr., by her side. She was 90.

Mrs. Shafer was born to Bessie (née Colliton) and Lewis Barber on April 15, 1924, in Duanesburg, on her parents’ Bozenkill Farm.
