ALTAMONT — Stephen F. Hout has been named manager of the Capital Region Market's Altamont branch of KeyBank, at 105 Park Street.

“He is responsible for maximizing branch productivity, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, and managing the employees within the branch,” according to a release from KeyBank.

GUILDERLAND — Kathy Burbank, formerly president of the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce and director of Community Caregivers, is joining CM Fox Real Estate.

The independent real estate company, owned by Troy Miller, who was raised in Guilderland, is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Members of the Guilderland School Board, elected representatives of the people, should have discussed the naming of the high school football field in public as the law allows.

     
 
Enrolled voters in Guilderland are 38 percent Democrat and 25 percent Republican; enrolled Conservatives number just 450, or 2 percent. The remaining 35 percent are enrolled in other small parties or as independents.

People have to be willing to invest in the community, and fair treatment would be a benefit to the businesses, town, and taxpayers, said Carman.

The incumbent councilman suggested the town's comprehensive plan may be due for an update.

Coons believes that Guilderland should set a specific policy for businesses wanting to open and be consistent in enforcing that policy.

Centi lives in a neighborhood off of Carman Road, and said that, if elected, one of her projects would be to get the sidewalks extended and connected on Carman.

Barber said he is endorsed by the New York League of Conservation Voters, the leading state environmental group in terms of government action.

The town could, Forte said, do a better job at bringing in some smart economic growth with businesses and commercial properties.
