Jonathan Phillips still hopes to build a sports dome near his hardware store — and he has received town approval to do so — but that part of his project is on hold for now. He hopes to revisit it later, if he has the financing, he told The Enterprise earlier.

Farnsworth Middle School’s musical production of “Shrek Jr.,” which hits the cafeteria stage this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.

ALTAMONT — Laura Mary Brown — whom her family described as “a loving, caring, traditional Italian mom” — died peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2019 in the presence of her family. She was 56.

She was born on July 27, 1962 in Troy to the late Armand John and Julia May (née Dorey) Coreno.

GUILDERLAND — Carolyn Mae Wolcott loved to laugh and taught her four children to be independent and resourceful — to cook, garden, and appreciate nature, said her daughter Melody Wolcott. Carolyn (née Hallenbeck) Wolcott died on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019. She was 82.

GUILDERLAND — Harriet May (née Douglas) Baumes, a longtime resident of Guilderland, died on Dec. 26, 2018 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where she had lived for the past four years. She was 96.

ALTAMONT — The village has a contested election for the first time in years as four candidates are running for two trustee posts.

GUILDERLAND — Since Alice Begley retired as Guilderland’s town historian at the end of 2016, not much has been done with the Schoolcraft House. Begley was the mover and shaker behind fundraising for renovations and planning for special events, such as lectures or open houses, held there.
