Voorheesville girls volleyball

Last Wednesday, Oct. 26, the 12-seeded Voorheesville girls’ volleyball team traveled to fifth-seeded Corinth for their first-round matchup in the Section 2, Class C sectionals. The Birds won three sets to none; 28-26, 25-18, 25-21.

It was Senior Night for the Voorheesville girls’ volleyball team on Oct. 14 as they took on the Mohonasen Warriors.

The young Voorheesville Girls volleyball team had their home opener and first game in Fall Sports 2 on March 19. Volleyball is categorized as a “high-risk” sport, but the team was finally able to play.

The season may be young for the Voorheesville girls’ tennis team and volleyball team but both teams are working hard to prove they belong in their conference. The tennis team took a three-year hiatus, due to few players but came back this year to play under a new coach, Tav Daly.

For the Voorheesville girls volleyball team, the back to-back-sectional champions and 3rd in NYS was recognized by Albany County Executive Dan McCoy on Friday morning at Clayton A. Bouton high school during the executive's "Week of Champions" appreciation.

Voorheesville's Katy Bablin was selected by the American Volleyball Coaches Association to participate in a convention held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, who is an unsigned student athlete, to show off her talent on the volleyball court.
