As many malls fade or close, Guilderland's plaza has changed with the times.

RENSSELAERVILLE — The Preservation League of New York State has given the Daniel Conkling House in Rensselaerville an award for Excellence in Historic Preservation.

The league's statewide awards program honors notable achievements in retaining, promoting, and reusing New York State's irreplaceable architectural heritage.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Town Board and the Altamont Village Board of Trustees each approved resolutions, with all affirming votes on Tuesday, to annex 52 acres of land from Guilderland to the village.

BERNE — One of the neighbors and potential bidders for a foreclosed property near a state preserve is the town’s building inspector, who was recently accused of trying to devalue an adjoining parcel.

Crossgates Mall is looking to amend its special-use permit to add a 20,000-square-foot, two-story addition and a total of 2,100 square feet of leasable space to the 1.3 million square feet of retail space it already has.
