ALTAMONT — Etta Cleary was a kind and gentle woman, the type of person who “would often find something between two or three people,” some kind of connection, that would forge “a companionship,” her son, Daniel Cleary said. “She’d make you feel like you’re family.”

Mrs. Cleary died on Saturday, June 6, 2020. She was 93.

“The Rev. John Herbert Jenner, ‘Jack’ to so many, was called home on Monday, June 1, 2020,” his family wrote in a tribute. He was 78.

He was born in Gloversville, New York on Dec. 9, 1941 to Richard and Dorothy Jenner.

GREENVILLE — Phyllis Barnes Magee, the mother of three sons and a beloved first-grade teacher for 40 years, died peacefully at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home on Thursday, May 28, 2020. She was 91.

She was born on June 21, 1928 in Catskill, the daughter of the late LeRoy and Syrene Brockett Barnes of the Town of Durham.

Gerald David Miller, whose adventurous spirit intertwined with an unwavering dedication to his family, died Friday, May 29, 2020, in Lady Lake, Florida. He was 56. 

Born in Niskayuna on April 10, 1964 to Gerald and Huberta Miller, Mr. Miller was, from the outset, easygoing and independent. 

GUILDERLAND — Doris E. Marsh, a long-time resident of Guilderland, died peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2020. She was 96.

NEW SALEM — Eleanor Marie “Ellie” DeVellis, “was peacefully reunited in heaven with her husband, father, and mother on Wednesday, May 6, 2020,” her family wrote in a tribute. She was 88.

EAST BERNE —  Kenneth Crawford, an iconic Hilltown farmer, died peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2020, surrounded by his family.

“Ken fought a courageous five-year battle with cancer,” his family wrote in a tribute. He was 84.

WESTERLO — “After a courageous battle with lung cancer, Willie passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020 at St. Peter’s Hospital,” his family wrote in a tribute. “As with so many others during these coronavirus times, it was so frustrating not being able to be by his side.” He was 61.

“On March 27, 2020 our dear son, husband, and brother, Lee, of Glenville, New York passed away after fighting a battle with metastatic cancer and mental illness,” his family wrote in a tribute.

James Richard Patnode, a resident of Queensbury who grew up in Guilderland, died at home on Sunday, April 12, 2020, following an extensive cardiac history, surrounded by his wife and family. He was 75.

He was born on March 27, 1945 in Burlington, Vermont and was the son of the late Richard and Eleanor (née Morrell) Patnode.
