Bragle house, Slingerlands Historic District

While town officials say there are guidelines in place to protect the district, members of a grassroots group want a change in the law to protect the area.

Next Thursday evening, May 3rd, there will be the opening dance at Weaver’s saw-mill. The floor has been enlarged and other improvements made. Dances will be continued every two weeks thereafter on Thursday evenings.

CLARKSVILLE — Join the Clarksville Historical Society on Wednesday evening, May 3, at 7 p.m. at the Clarksville Community Church on Delaware Turnpike for an interesting presentation on New York license plate and vehicle registration history.

VOORHEESVILLE.

— Miss Stella Brunk has a record of being the only pupil having perfect attendance in the primary department during the month of March.

— Special Easter music was rendered in both churches last Sunday.

Surprising facts about the new Guilderland town historian, Ann Wemple-Person, include that she knows how to wrangle chickens and drive a tractor.

The second hilltowns regional historical summit was held on Saturday to discuss and plan events that would promote history in the region, from Middleburgh to Duanesburg to New Scotland. At the meeting, it was decided to pursue setting up events and exhibits centering around local industry, alcohol production, and the Prohibition Era.

For third-graders at Lynnwood Elementary School in Guilderland, a Living Wax Museum held last Friday capped weeks of reading biographies.
