In a partnership between the Boys & Girls Clubs and engineers from AT&T, kids tried their hands as amateur engineers at Camp Lovejoy.

GUILDERLAND — Camp Invention, supported by the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the National Inventors Hall of Fame, is coming to Farnsworth Middle School the week of Aug. 10. The weeklong day camp is for students entering first through sixth grades.

The school board appointed Jeffrey Vivenzio, an Altamont native, to replace Thomas Reardon as Voorheesville Elementary School principal.

Graduates, you achieved your task; you completed the requirements of one phase of your life. Now, you must move into the next phase — how will you go about it?

BETHLEHEM — The Bethlehem Children’s School is offering a new “Tiny Sprouts” classroom for the 2015-16 school year.  This half-day or full-day program is designed for students “ready to begin their educational experience in a small nurturing environment,” according to a release from the not-for-profit school.

When you’re a child, people tell you what matters. “When you become older…you need to figure it out for yourself,” said Superintendent Marie Wiles.

Thomas Fisher said he found vast opportunities at Berne-Knox-Westerlo, where he took advanced classes and bonded with teachers.

Timothy Mundell follows two interim superintendents and will lead a district with new principals in both of its buildings.

Farnsworth Middle School student André Valverde was given the 2015 Lt. John F. Finn Community Service award.

A two-mega-watt array will supply power to the school's facilities from a 20-acre field near Dunnsville and Becker roads.
