NEW SCOTLAND — Following his Feb. 22 arrest on Western Avenue in Guilderland, Kyle Pianowski, of New Scotland, was sentenced this week to two to six years in state prison for driving while high on heroin.

On April 2, Pianowski pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated – impaired by drugs, a felony.

NEW SCOTLAND — Last Thursday afternoon, two young men climbed onto a rock ledge on the Indian Ladder Trail, and, according to police, spray-painted graffiti on the aged structure.

A Colonie man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a Voorheesville resident at the victim's home.

GREENVILLE — Catskill police arrested Brian S. Andersen of Westerlo after he threatened a woman with a knife during an argument on Feb. 7, according to State Police.

Appearing in Berne Town Court on Jan. 14, Mary Miesowicz and Harold Albright III faced much-reduced charges from their arrests for felony and misdemeanor offenses last March.

Hopeton LaBeach, 55, of White Plains, was sentenced Wednesday by Judge Stephen Herrick in Albany County Court to one to three years.

He had pleaded guilty on Dec. 13 to one count of fourth-degree money laundering, a felony.

A Delmar man was sentenced on Jan. 3 to four years in state prison as a second felony offender; the prison time will be followed by five years of post-release supervision.

Frank Markus, 50, of 489 Orchard St., was sentenced by Judge Peter A. Lynch in Albany County Court.

GUILDERLAND — Reginal Francois, one of four New York City residents who drove to Albany County to use fraudulent credit cards, was sentenced on Jan. 7 to three to six years in state prison before Judge Stephen Herrick in Albany County Court.

The odor of marijuana led police to search the car, where marijuana, crack cocaine, and scales were found.

With two new board members, the town's governing council was deliberative in its work, while the rest of the town celebrated its community institutions and a stunning murder case was closed.
