GUILDERLAND — The Phillips family would like to reinvent the corner of routes 146 and 158, building a huge complex that would include a 50,400-square-foot indoor sports facility, a gas station with a drive-through restaurant, apartments, corporate offices, and an expanded hardware store.  

GUILDERLAND — On the same land where he grew up and his father owned a vegetable farm, Bob Pigliavento, together with his wife, Linda, has run a greenhouse business, offering bedding plants and potted flowers to the public for almost 35 years.

In addition to negotiating for Smith's Tavern, Stewart's Shops is entering "normal business-to-business" discussions with the corporate owner of the Voorheesville Mobil station.

Business owners Gary Guyette and P. J. Hognestad want to expand or start up agriculture and outdoors supply businesses along Route 308.

Phillips has been partnering with Red Kap, a local petroleum and gas distributor on the plans for expansion into the new areas of business, he said.

GUILDERLAND — Stuyvesant Plaza merchants will bring their goods outdoors during the plaza’s second sidewalk sale of the season on Saturday, Aug. 1. The plaza will open at 9:30 a.m. to accommodate shoppers and will remain open until 6 p.m.
