Nikolas Freihofer, a Bethlehem junior in the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School Digital Media Design program, recently earned the Adobe Certified Professional certification.

“I have always wanted to be a nurse and this program is a good opportunity to get a head start,” she said while practicing bathing a mannequin.

“I chose welding because it’s hands-on and it’s like an art. I like the creativity part of it and making things,”

Joe Oystintravis, a Berne-Knox-Westerlo student, is in the Capital Region BOCES Electrical Trades program, which has two classrooms in Albany and is adding a third in Schoharie.

Guilderland senior in the Capital Region BOCES Manufacturing and Machining Technology program is doing work-based learning two days a week at Ren Tools.

Students work on an engine in the Diesel Tech lab, part of the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School Program.

More than 50 students are enrolled in the Capital Region BOCES Pathways in Technology Early College High School, known as P - TECH, as it launches its third year.

Students will take part in in-person learning this year as their home district’s schedules allow; virtual lessons in integrated English, Math and Science are also being offered to the students.

Hailey Lawrence, a Berne-Knox-Westerlo student, is one of just a handful of females in the Commercial Construction/Heavy Equipment program on the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School Schoharie Campus.
