On Saturday, Feb. 10, Guilderland and Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Middleburgh wrestling teams competed in the 2024 Section 2 wrestling state qualifiers in Glens Falls.
On Saturday, Feb. 10, Guilderland, Berne-Knox-Westerlo, and Voorheesville indoor track teams battled to qualify for the state competition on March 2 in Staten Island. Guilderland qualified 12 for the state competition.
On Sunday, Feb. 4, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo cheer team competed in the 22nd Scotia-Glenville Spirit Invitational. The Bulldogs battled five other schools in the Class D division where they finished in second place.
On Saturday, Feb. 3, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Middleburgh wrestling team competed in the Section 2, Class D sectional wrestling tournament at Tamarac High School in Brunswick.
On Sunday, Jan. 28, Voorheesville and Berne-Knox-Westerlo indoor track teams competed in the Section 2, Division 4 championships held at Union College. Voorheesville finished for the girls in 7th and boys third. Bulldogs finished 12th for the girls and 6th for the boys.
Last Thursday, Dec. 28, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo boys’ basketball team took on Community Health Academy of the Heights from the New York City Public Schools Athletic League in the BKW Holiday tournament. The Bulldogs pulled away in the second half to win 99-61.
The Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls’ basketball team hosted its holiday tournament at home this past Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 27 and 28. BKW cruised to the finals and its defense pounced on Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, resulting in a 65-to-26 win.
On Sunday, Dec. 17, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo indoor track team competed in the Tri-County Indoor Track league 3B at Union College. The boys finished in ninth with 20-points and the girls finished in eighth with 24-points.
Last Wednesday, Dec. 6, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo bowling team hosted Western Athletic Conference foe Schoharie. The Bulldogs swept Schoharie, 4 to 0, 2196 to 2114 in total pins.
On Friday, Dec. 1, the Guilderland and Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Middleburgh wrestling teams competed in the Columbia Duals in a two day event at Columbia High School.
