To the Editor:

The Town of Berne Historical Society would like to express its heartfelt thanks to all the folks who enthusiastically embraced our journey into the world of quilting with the Aug. 3 quilt show event in Berne and Knox.

Our list includes volunteers setting up the show, helping the day of, and putting the show to rest. Many of these same people allowed us the honor of displaying their beautiful quilts, made pies, and took pictures of the action.

We also thank the businesses and community members supporting us with donations toward our door prizes, drawing, and luncheon.

Watching the visitors enjoying the carefully placed quilts was a delight.

"Will you be doing this again next year?" was asked a number times.

For now, we rest and are grateful for all the people making the show a pleasing success.

Thanks also go out to the staff of The Altamont Enterprise for accepting our articles and notices as we work to present programs of interest to the people. Our sign-in sheet asked: "How did you find out about our quilt show?"

The top response: The Altamont Enterprise.

Thank you.
