To the Editor:

On  March 19, the Guilderland Historical Society will convene its monthly meeting at the Helderberg  Room of the Guilderland Public Library beginning at 1:15 p.m. There will be a business meeting of approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Our featured presenter will be Tricia Barbagallo.  

Ms. Barbagallo will speak on the Vale of Tawasentha, a history of early Guilderland and its people. The talk will focus on Native Americans, early Dutch-American settlements, agriculture, enslaved people, families, and industrial development of the area. 

Ms. Barbagallo holds two master’s degrees and is finishing her Ph.D. Her career includes 16 years  of teaching at Siena and the University at Albany where she taught American history as well as the history of New York state. Her career activity includes the Colonial Albany project at the New York State Museum as well as a grant from the Albany Institute of History and Art.
