Crew’s long day makes driving safer

To the Editor:

I wish to express our appreciation to the village of Altamont highway crew for the long day of work on Tuesday, Feb. 18, that resulted in the removal of snow banks on Maple Avenue and Main Street.

This effort to remove accumulated snow will make the turn from Maple Avenue onto Main Street safer for vehicles.

Our home is located across from Jay Street and snow deposited on our side of the street is significant.  Thank you very much for removing the accumulated snow in front of our house so that we see oncoming traffic as we exit our driveway.
