Knox GOP candidates attempt to keep our candidates off the ballot altogether
To the Editor:
I would like to remind registered Democrats to be sure to vote in the Knox Town Primary on June 25. This is especially important because our Republican opponents have petitioned for an opportunity to ballot, which means there will be the opportunity for them to write in their selections in an attempt to keep our candidates off the November ballot for town offices. The write-ins can have any — or no — party affiliation.
This is unusual, because they are already on the Republican line, and I can only interpret it as an attempt to keep our candidates off the ballot altogether... The outcome could have been determined in November.
So, I hope Democratic voters will turn out for the primary, keep our candidates on the Democratic ballot lines, and use the time between now and November to observe how the town is being managed by those currently in charge. Then, decide if our candidates could do a better job.

Corrected on June 22, 2019: The first part of this sentence was removed: It is also costing the taxpayers, since the primary would not be held without their opportunity to ballot, and the outcome could have been determined in November. It has been removed because the opportunity to ballot is not costing Knox taxpayers since a Democratic primary is being held in Knox irregardless for county candidates.
