Eating brings us together

To the Editor:

I love the idea of making a recipe a regular feature of the Altamont Enterprise “Field notes: How to make a pie crust that people won’t leave on their plates,” The Altamont Enterprise, Feb. 26, 2026], especially if it can be related to something local or some other story you’re covering.

Wouldn’t it be a gracious touch to have Dennis Palow’s mother’s meatloaf, or a perfect shareable Chinese dish for Middleburgh’s mahjong event at the library? Maybe historical recipes that might have been served at George Brownell’s party 100 years ago.

We’re all human, we all like to eat, and eating brings us together. That seems aligned with your mission.
