Doctors Frank and Jane DeRook had ‘old school’ care and compassion

To the Editor:

I enjoyed the letter honoring the local physicians in the March 6 edition. [“Fond recollections of country doctors who welcomed newborns and comforted elderly patients”].

There were two that I feel need recognition. As a native “Westmerian,” I feel it wouldn’t be right not to honor Doctors Frank and Jane DeRook who had an office on Western Avenue for many years. They were selfless people who took a genuine interest in their patients and would see you at any hour.

My family went to them and I wouldn’t hesitate to refer anyone to them for their “old school” care and compassion.
