B’nai Sholom Reform Congregation continues its “Synagogue Scholars” series with a talk by Adah Hetko of the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Massachusetts, on the development of Yiddish identity among today’s Yiddish women vocalists.

Registration is now open for the eighth annual I Love My Park Day, to be held on May 4 at state parks, historic sites, and public lands across New York.

Joseph Tovares has been named vice president and chief content and engagement officer at WMHT Public Media, a locally-owned, not-for-profit organization.

The company launched a nationwide search earlier this year. Tovares will begin his new job on April 22.

Local filmmakers launched a new blog on April 1 entitled “How I Talked About Climate Change Today” to stimulate conversation about the global environmental challenge.

“People truly don’t know assistance is out there. We have so many different programs and so many facets, it would be wonderful for more people to use them,” said Tracy Gibeau, the executive director of the Albany County Rural Housing Alliance.

The Princetown Seniors are hosting a trip on July 25 to see the musical “Ragtime” at the Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham with a lunch buffet. The cost is $68.
