The New Scotland Town Board on Dec. 14 named a new Natural Resource Inventory Committee, passed a long-in-the-works hamlet zoning-law update, and set a public hearing to update the town’s solar law.

New Scotland Town Board members on Wednesday OK’d approximately $324,000 for new playground equipment; about $23,000 to streamline the town’s general code; and put out to bid about $275,000 worth of work at the Hilton Barn.

Wendall Thayer, post commander of the Legion, said about 200 were fed in the Legion hall on Nov. 24 while another 100 received take-out meals.

The first proposition, $25.2 million in construction projects, passed with about 68-percent approval, while the second proposition, a $2 million energy-performance contract, passed with about 81-percent approval.
