NEW SCOTLAND — The Voorheesville Community and School Foundation is inviting the community to enjoy a complementary performance of the Classic Theater Guild Production of White Christmas at Proctor’s Theater on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m.

NEW SCOTLAND — The New Scotland Historical Association has republished the book, Voorheesville, New York: A Sketch of the Beginning of a Nineteenth-Century Railroad Town, written by the village of Voorheesville historian, Dennis Sullivan.   

A mother and daughter, Audrey and Kelly Iacobucci, have created characters like themselves to star in a series of mysteries; their first book is being released this week.

Less than a third of the town's registered voters went to the polls on Election Day and, of those, a large number did not cast votes for local offices. All of the incumbents were unopposed as the GOP put up no candidates.

NEW SALEM — An active community and church volunteer, Marion E. “Skippy” Weiss Klapp, died peacefully surrounded by family members on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at her home in New Salem.  She was 87.
Born in Albany on July 7, 1926, she was one of four siblings and the daughter of P. Henry Weiss and Ella Viola Clother Weiss. 

 

 

 

New Scotland's incumbents, running unopposed in the town's elections, talk about water, development, and the ambulance squad.

Voorheesville School District residents will vote on Dec. 17 whether or not to pay for a new high school roof and upgraded technology.

This local student has recently received their diploma:

Sarah Scardillo, a resident of Slingerlands, received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island;
