VOORHEESVILLE — Voorheesville residents continued to enjoy the same quality of life as always, but paid a little bit more for it: 2014 marked the first time that the village exceeded the state-mandated 2-percent levy cap on property taxes, raising them 5 percent.

FEURA BUSH — A Feura Bush resident, Rodolfo Rios, 52, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to first-degree attempted robbery in Albany County Supreme Court, only a year after being released from state prison for armed robbery.

Town leaders disagree over a proposed water-well law, with some contending that it would harm farmers and long-time residents, and others citing an obligation to provide safe water to taxpayers.
