The Helderberg Senior Services lunch program continues to be closed due to COVID-19. However, keep in mind that these resources are available to you.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s senior planning committee is looking at other venues for the school’s graduation ceremony, typically held at The Egg in Albany,  that will accommodate social-distancing guidelines while allowing students a meaningful send-off. 

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Board of Education voted this week, 5 to 0, to accept Superintendent Timothy Mundell’s proposed $23.4 million budget. 

RENSSELAERVILLE — On April 1, local poet Tom Corrado, of Berne, published “A Piece of Nothing,” a poem that on its face describes the experience of isolation, and the ensuing flights of fancy that provide solace in imagination. After a public hearing on a controversial bill to add members to the Berne Planning Board that was so contentious and technically flawed it was discontinued, Supervisor Sean Lyons says the town board will continue with its plan, resuming the hearing once people are allowed to meet in person.

The Carey Institute for Global Good is putting together an interactive telling of the Anti-Rent Wars in Rensselaerville, using theater, music, and re-enactment. The production will be bolstered by grant money received from the New York State Council of the Arts Decentralization Program.
