ALTAMONT — Zachary Connolly, 16, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on April 30.

“He’s very driven and motivated,” said his mother, Megan Connolly.

Zachary Connolly created a “reflecting garden” behind St. John’s Lutheran Church in Altamont.

The 911 call in a recent domestic violence incident that led to a felony strangulation charge for a Guilderland resident  was made by the accused himself, said Trooper Mark Cepiel, public information officer with the New York State Police.

The fiancée of a young man killed in a wood chipper says he was a one-day laborer, hired to fill in when a tree company was short-handed.

GUILDERLAND — This afternoon, the car of an elderly Latham couple crashed into a bus, killing the woman passenger.

The crash took place just before 1 p.m. where the Northway meets Route 20.

Tree work has "many safety hazards," according to a report from the Centers for Disease Control.
