Heart of a champion: Isabella Sericolo battled against Shaker in the Class AA sectional final; her team lost but the senior helped get the Dutch to its 10th consecutive sectional final.

Historic year: Berne-Knox-Westerlo Justin Houck hit the 1,000-point mark his senior year, helping to lead the Bulldogs to the Class C sectional semifinal, where BKW lost.

Determined Bulldog: On the field, the Bulldogs showed their power, led by senior Shayla Lyons who showed the state how well she can fling a discus. Lyons finished fourth in the state for discus but wasn’t able to defend her state title in shot put.

The Blackbirds soared to places where they have been before. In boys’ volleyball, after a lot of the team graduated, James Connolly helped lead Voorheesville back to the regional final against Sauquoit Valley in a thrilling match but came up short in the fifth set.
