GUILDERLAND — As Republican Stephen R. Chesley, an attorney, gears up to challenge incumbent Guilderland town justice John W. Bailey, a Democrat, in the November elections, the two are vying for the Conservative party line in the June 25 primaries.

ALTAMONT — After more than a decade without a demolition derby, the Altamont Fair is bringing the event back for this year’s fair.

A solar farm that went online in January is expected to offset 58 percent of the Guilderland School District’s annual energy consumption, reducing operating expenses by $4.5 million over the next 20 years. The array is also being used as a teaching tool.

Guilderland and Voorheesville track-and-field athletes ran and jumped with the best at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association state competition at Middletown High School in Middletown last Friday and Saturday.

William P. Hauser

GUILDERLAND — William P. “Willie” Hauser, whose sisters described him as a kind-hearted protector, died unexpectedly at his Guilderland home on Thursday, June 6, 2019. He was 37.

Born in Albany on Sept. 19, 1981, he was the son of Barbara Hauser of Johnstown, and William Delligan of Delanson.

Town Planner Kenneth Kovalchik wants to encourage the development of senior independent-living facilities along Western Avenue, where residents could walk to doctors’ offices, coffee shops, and bus stops.
